The “Plamuche” vocal group has existed since 2010 with leader and founder – Plamena Zlateva. Established in 1990 as the “Singing Kangaroos” WG at the “Erich Kästner” Private German School, and in 2010 – as the “Flame” WG at the “Plamuk” People’s Community Center.
It is a vocal group for the performance of contemporary children’s songs and performs original, popular and children’s works, according to the age of the performers. The repertoire is diverse: Bulgarian, folk, English, Italian, Russian songs.
Their activities include participation in children’s competitions in Bulgaria and abroad; annual concerts of the Metropolitan Municipality; recordings of new songs, etc.
They have released the 6th disc with songs for children by the composer H. Agasyan. A new CD of children’s songs is about to be released.
In 2022, the band’s individual performers were honored at:
International competition “Path to Glory” – Sofia:
- Madeleine Tomova – first place
- Siana Dimitrova and Zvezda Stoyanova – second place
- Eney Simeonov and Yana Tursankova – third place
International competition “Abanico”
- Maria Angelova – second and third place for Italian and English song
The choristers are selected through an exam. The children’s intonation and rhythmicity are evaluated. They work independently on voices, paying particular attention to intonation and dynamics.
When the group gathers, they work on polyphony, and use a choreographer for stage behavior.
Participation of VG “Plamuche” three years in a row in Junior Eurovision – Bulgaria. The group was ranked in the top three in all three of its appearances.
