A proven brand of the highest quality, with an extremely rich concert activity and an endless list of tours around the world – this is the short business card of this choir.

Academician Hristo Nedyalkov was the founder and chief conductor of the choir from 1960 until his death in 2013. After him, the conductor is Venetsia Karamanova.

Activity

The tours of the Children’s Radio Choir of the BNR – four continents, the most prestigious concert halls in cities such as New York, Washington, London, Paris, Berlin, Moscow, Vienna, Prague, Budapest, Brussels, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsinki, Mexico City, Honolulu, Cairo, Beijing. In Japan alone, the choir has had 18 tours, performed over 500 times in 150 cities in the Land of the Rising Sun!

The recordings of the Children’s Radio Choir are numerous – hundreds of children’s songs (many written especially for them) for the BNR fund, as well as a number of radio and television recordings from the choir’s world tours around the world.

The Children’s Radio Choir has received dozens of awards, among them the title “Ambassador of European Culture” from the European Federation of Choirs to the EU /2002/ stands out.

Performances

The repertoire of the Children’s Radio Choir is extremely rich – it includes over 800 works from the works of the great composers of all eras and styles to the works of contemporary Bulgarian and foreign artists, as well as numerous choral arrangements of Bulgarian folklore and folk songs from around the world.
